My mission is simple...I need your support! I recently signed up with the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's TEAM IN TRAINING (TNT) to participate in the King's Trail Triathlon on June 13th, 2004! This is an olympic distance event, which includes a .9-mile swim, 25-mile bike ride, followed by a 6.2-mile run. As you will see, this is for a very good cause.
My first official introduction to TNT was last summer at a meeting in Grapevine, Texas. During that meeting, I heard several people describe the challenges they are facing, fighting leukemia on a daily basis. This motivated and convinced me that my participation would make a difference. I made that commitment January 27, 2004.
TNT is the world's largest endurance sports training program, allowing each athlete to run, walk or ride in honor of a specific patient with a blood cancer. An experienced athletic coach will provide a comprehensive training program to prepare me for this challenge. Over the next 4 months, I will be training intensely, while raising money for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. I will be participating in this event on behalf of my honored heroes, Haden Curtis, Elizabeth Collins, Maura Mangan, all diagnosed with acute lymphocytic leukemia, and Nitia Collins, diagnosed with Hodgkin's disease.
All TNT participants are involved in a lifesaving mission: to help the Society cure leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin's disease and myeloma, and to improve the quality of life of patients and their families. Every dollar I raise will help support this mission.
I'm asking for your help in contributing to this very important cause, which will make a difference to many people. As part of my commitment to this event, I must raise a minimum of $5,800 in order to participate on the team...A LOT OF MONEY!
Over 75% of your donation will go directly to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society for research, patient services, advocacy and education! Your support of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, and of me personally, is greatly appreciated.
NO DONATION IS TOO GREAT OR TOO SMALL...every dollar helps! If you are unable to contribute at this time, please re-consider at a later date.
